Hey Mom and Dad,
So to try and answer some questions.. the food in Ruse isn't neccesarily better, it's just summer and there are fruit and vegetable stands everywhere! So that is really nice. Also, they don't use olive oil here, it is too expensive for most of them. However, my cooking time with our investigator Anna was amazing. She taught us how to make a really good dish "polneny chooshky" not quite sure how to spell it latin letters... but basically it is stuffed peppers. They are stuffed with rice and meat and other veggies. I really like them.
This week I was able to meet the new President and his wife. Each of us got to have 30 mins with him to get to know him. They are very nice. They are currently from St. George, UT. It was very nice having time to talk and get to know him and his wife. I am excited to have them here and I know they were called here to be our President for a reason.
We had a very busy week. I don't even know where all the time went! This past Saturday night we had a "MIA" Missionary Investigator Activity. The them was "Mexican Fiesta" it was such a hit! We had so many people there! We made a taco soup and taco items made so they could make tacos. It was very fun but pretty stressful because the missionaries do everything. We made all the food, decorated everything and kept them entertained with games. We also made a donkey pinata! That was a big attraction. Everyone loved it. We wanted it to be a big event so we invited everyone we talked to (as long as they weren't crazy..) and we ended up with over 50 people in our small building. However, after it was finished it was a race to clean everything up in time before we had to get back home. It was a lot of fun overall and brought a lot of people from the community together.
We did a lot of contacting this week. The only downfall was that it was around 43-45 degrees celcius pretty much all week. Which is around 110-113 degrees F. So it was a bit hard sometimes but we got to laugh about it. Oh and I don't know if I told you this yet, but we finally got the conference addition Liahona around a week ago and I was finally able to read it! Wow, I loved all the talks. I especially enjoyed "The Merciful will obtain mercy" by Pres. Uchtdorf. I taught a lesson this week with Stefi about that talk. She really liked it and we had a great discussion about it.
This morning I went on a nice run along the river that divides Bulgaria from Romania. It was very pretty and it felt really nice. Later today we plan on going to the bridge to take pictures!
I am glad to hear you had a great week! Thanks for all the updates and congratulate Mallory and Lexi!
I love you all so much! Thanks for sending a package! I am excited! I will let you know when I get it. Have a great week!!!
Love,
Jodi...Sister Farnsworth
